Axelle Latortue
Originally from Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Axelle (AP) was first introduced to Ayurveda through her Ashtanga yoga practice. Inspired by her teachers and the deep connections between yoga and Ayurveda, she began weaving Ayurvedic teachings into her daily life. The profound improvements she experienced in her own well-being ultimately inspired her to leave a demanding career—where she worked with overseas governments to strengthen their education systems—to study Ayurveda full-time.
Axelle is a graduate of the Ayurvedic Institute’s Ayurvedic Studies Program. After earning her Ayurvedic Practitioner certification in 2019 and with some guiding words from her teacher, Dr. Vasant Lad, she joined the Ayurvedic Institute’s team. There, she gained hands-on experience teaching, supporting clients under the mentorship of senior practitioners, and supervising students in the Institute’s clinic.
Certified in Ayurveda for postpartum care, Axelle is cultivating a specialty in women’s health and wellness. Her experience includes teaching Ayurveda workshops for yogis, leading courses on Ayurvedic body treatments, creating individualized diet and lifestyle plans, formulating custom herbal blends, and offering postpartum support for new parents.
Axelle has a particular affinity for working with clients who are preparing for pregnancy, pregnant, or navigating the postpartum period—as well as those who travel frequently or experience overwhelm affecting their balance and vitality. She is passionate about serving her community and finds joy in helping others reconnect with their innate well-being through the wisdom of Ayurveda.
