Pranav Lad

Pranav is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor dedicated to helping people heal through compassionate, integrative, and deeply personalized care. He also holds a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree, which he applied earlier in his career in academic medicine. Licensed in both New Mexico and California, Pranav draws on the strengths of holistic and conventional medical training to support each patient’s unique path toward wellness.

Pranav’s connection to Ayurveda started early. His father, Dr. Vasant Lad introduced him to these traditions as a child, and his influence shaped a lifelong commitment to blending contemporary medicine with time-tested healing practices. Pranav’s academic journey began with a B.S. in Biology from the University of New Mexico (Dean’s List), followed by Ayurvedic training at the Ayurvedic Institute, and later an M.D. from the Medical University of the Americas in Nevis, where he completed clinical rotations in Chicago and earned ECFMG certification in 2009. Teaching has always been close to Pranav’s heart. He spent several years supporting both U.S. and international medical graduates preparing for the USMLE Step 2 Clinical Skills examination.

Eventually, Pranav’s desire for a more holistic, patient-centered approach led him to complete a four-year Naturopathic Medicine degree at Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in 2016.

Today, Pranav is the founder of Healing Arts of Veda, an integrative practice in Albuquerque, NM (also available virtually nationwide) that thoughtfully blends Naturopathic and Ayurvedic medicine to help adults with chronic conditions restore balance and vitality. His particular focus is on metabolic syndrome — supporting patients with blood pressure management, blood sugar regulation, weight concerns, and the interconnected metabolic imbalances that drive so many chronic diseases. Pranav believes in root-cause care: understanding the patterns in digestion, sleep, stress, and environment that shape a person’s health, and creating clear, stepwise plans people can actually live with. He also served as faculty at the Ayurvedic Institute, teaching Pathophysiology, Physical Examination Skills, Basic Pharmacology, and Sanskrit studies.

If you’re looking for integrative, whole-person care or just want to connect about the intersection of conventional and traditional medicine, he would love to hear from you.
